Kerry Blue Terrier
Jack Russell Terrier, Mix
An adotable dog in Durham, NC
Prissy & Polly "Shy and quiet, yet energetic and outspoken. These beautiful girls will steal your heart. Their beautiful eyes speak right to your soul and let you know just how much love they have to give."
Prissy and Polly are approximately 2 years old. Prissy is a 27 lb tricolor JRT Mix with the most adorable spots. Polly is a slim 21 lb Blue Heeler Mix with the most beautiful ticking coat.
Both are spayed, micro-chipped and current on all required vaccines and on monthly Heartworm and Flea/Tick preventatives. House-trained, Prissy is great at using pee pads! Polly is great at "going" outside if you keep her on a set schedule. They both know sit, leave it, wait and a few other key words. They will sit and wait for a treat or to be fitted with their harnesses before every walk.
These sweeties have been crate-trained and will do fine together in a large crate, as long as this is not used as a long term living arrangement, but for safety purposes a few hours a day. They just love spending time with their people, each other, and the rest of the pack.
While they're both people and dog friendly, it's important to mention that Polly gets really excited and vocal whenever she sees either, during her walks. She's too eager to meet everyone. It's best to let her know it's not the right way to make friends. Prissy will pay no mind to strangers, she's way more interested on the smells all around her. Having said that, they have been to the off-leash dog park and it's always been such a wonderful experience. Incredibly well behaved, social, welcoming people's petting in a rather submissive way, running, and playing with dogs they never met before without any issues.
These girls are great cuddlers as well, which makes them the perfect companions!
They're still working on their leash-walking but these smart girls will get there in no time. You may want to hide your shoes from Prissy, this little diva is quite fond of them. Polly is a little protective of her toys and you may even say she's a little hoarder (she stashes as many as she can under the bed).
Even though we'll never know their past, why they were abandoned at a gassing shelter or why they were so scared of everything at the beginning of their new-found freedom, one thing is certain, Prissy & Polly are two amazing survivors. They have opened up in such a surprising way and are now as playful and joyous as every dog should be.
There's no doubt in my mind, they will make the most wonderful addition to the right family. And this is what their foster mom is looking to find for her bonded baby girls, someone to make them loving members of their equally loving family and with the time and patience it takes to make two rescue dogs earn your trust and feel safe for the remaining of their days.
If you think you can offer Prissy & Polly the loving home they so deserve, please send an email to their Foster Mom at firstname.lastname@example.org and request an adoption application.
