Pit Bull Terrier
An adotable dog in Livermore, CA
ROXY NEEDS A FOSTER HOME ASAP! We would prefer a foster home that can bring Roxy to weekend adoption events in Livermore.
Roxy is an absolute sweetheart. She is about 2 yrs old, and 50 lbs. She came to us with her litter of puppies, which have been adopted. Roxy loves people and loves my 80 lb male pit! She is fine with my 3 Yorkies also (3 lbs - 6.5 lbs), though I discourage her from playing with them for obvious reasons. She is good with kids, and gentle. When she gets excited she can jump up high though, so she will need someone to work with her on that. She sees cats through the window but doesn't get too excited about them. Squirrels are another story - she goes nuts if she sees one. She chases flies and is very successful at catching them!
She is an attention hog and will jump in front of any other dog to get in front of the line for a pet, treat etc! She will cuddle and lay right in your arms, and loves her belly rubbed too. She has more energy then my male dog for sure. I think she would love to run at a park or to go on a hike, but she is fine lounging around the house with us as well. Roxy loves her walks. She does great on car rides also.
She is house trained and sleeps on the bed with me and all 4 of my dogs! She is a great "watch dog" with a hearty bark (I feel safe lol). She does have some food guarding issues around other dogs, and should be fed separately. Zero aggression and no food guarding at all with people though- I can take a bone right out of her mouth. She can JUMP high and if left alone and would do best with someone that is home more often than not. She can easily scale a 6 foot fence. She may do very well on a large property with room to run, and without having to worry about her jumping the fence.
Roxy's adoption fee is $275 and includes her spay surgery and vaccinations. To adopt, please visit www.BigDawgsRescue.com for an adoption application. For more info on Roxy, please e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org with any specific questions.
