Nova Scotia Duck-Tolling Retriever
Labrador Retriever, Mix
An adotable dog in Staten Island, NY
Charlie is a handsome Duck Toller Retriever Mix. He was saved from a local high kill shelter as a puppy and then brought back 3 yrs later. His owner brought him into the shelter after he was attacked by a stray dog who ran into his yard. After the scuffle and Charlie's hold was up he was supposed to be released back to his former owner when they decided that they no longer wanted him.
Charlie waited at the shelter for over a month and was a shelter staff favorite. Since Charlie has been bounced around a bit he is a little weary of people at first but then bonds very closely to his human.
Charlie would do better in a home without young children, we do not know how he is with cats and with proper introductions would do well with another dog.
All of our animals come fully up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, heartworm tested negative, and dewormed, as well as neutered, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals.
