Update 7/23/12: Beethoven has been in his foster home for quite a long time. He is approximately 10-11 yrs. old now. Little Beto does not seem to like women very much, and has bitten his foster mom several times. However, he is good with men and has become very devoted to the "grandfather" who lives in the foster home.

Beethoven is a tiny 7 yr. old 8-1/2 lb. Pekingese with maybe Japanese mixed in. He was severely neglected and had a very serious infection in his eye that wasn't treated - it became necessary to remove it so that infection wouldn't spread to his brain. He sleeps well in his crate at night and is used to having one eye. He goes up and down the hardwood stairs pretty well and he is quite a love. He likes to be carried around and loves to get rubbed and just sit on laps. He does not appreciate being left alone and is quite vocal about that. He might be best with an older couple or stay at home mom. He has gotten the hang of walking on a leash, but tends to tire quickly. He would rather just be home sitting on a lap. He is rather tough at learning house rules as he obviously didn't have any before, but is getting the message about peeing outside as opposed to inside. He seems to need the other dogs around to teach him the rules. Beethoven craves attention. He does well with other dogs and, so far, seems fine with respectful children.

Beethoven is being fostered in Philadelphia, PA and his asking adoption fee is $125.

E-MAIL INQUIRIES WILL BE RESPONDED TO MUCH FASTER THAN TELEPHONE CALLS!Please read about adopting from us on our home page by clicking on the link to the right of the furkid's picture. NOTE: Due to the volatile price of gas, getting multiple volunteers to help with long distance transporting is no longer feasible. We have listed the town and state where each dog is being fostered. Please consider how far you are willing to travel when filling out the application. The foster home will usually volunteer to help with transport for a reasonable distance.
