Poor Sam … his mommy went into assisted living in December then passed away in May. Since December 2012 he's been living with his mommy's daughter. Sam has always been the only kitty since he was rescued in 2006 so he's having a hard time adjusting to sharing a house with the 5 resident kitties in his new home. His new guardians have tried everything to make him feel welcome, comfortable and safe in his new home but having so many other kitties around is just too much for him.

Sam came to NJ from his mommy's home in FL. He's a big, shiny, beautiful, golden-eyed gentleman that's 8 years young. He was rescued 7 years ago when he was found wandering around near Ocala, FL, lost and scared without his front claws!

Sam is very energetic for a kitty his age. He's always looking for mischief or treats. He talks alot but he doesn't meow – he squeaks. Literally … he has a tiny little squeak for a voice. It's really funny coming from such a big kitty (he weighs about 18 pounds!). He loves attention and will follow you all over the house, rub against your legs and hang out on the couch with you.

Sam is a little socially awkward with other cats so he would prefer as an only cat as long as his guardian gives him lots of attention. An experienced cat owner without small children would be ideal.

Could you be Sam's special somebody? The poor boy needs a good home. He was such a brave boy on the flight to New Jersey and he's struggling to find that furrever home that's just right for him. If you're interested in meeting or adopting Sam please contact his foster mom at chinacatsun@comcast.net or 856-343-5809.

Vet references and adoption application required.
