Thanksgiving Thursday, Black Friday, and Cyber Monday ... God Bless America

After making it through that crazy food fest the humans call Thanksgiving, I have so much to be grateful for. Temptations were everywhere! It wasn't easy to stay with my Halo meal plan while everyone -- mostly the humans -- feasted on everything in sight until they were bursting at the seams. Some of the building “bitches” even tried to convince me that it was only one day of decadence (they're so jealous and are dying to see me fail), but I remained stoic.

I cannot honestly say that I was free of holiday envy, but at least I didn't wake up with a food hangover, either. In fact, you can see from the pictures taken over the holiday weekend that I'm positively glowing. And if I remember anything from my modeling days, it's that the camera don't lie!!!

Now, that isn't to say that I suffered through the holiday. That would be craaaaaaazy. But with some smart planning and a little self-discipline one can indulge -- a little. Thursday morning, for example, I did a few laps around the dog park and followed that with an hour of Doga. My treat: I had a sensible amount of turkey at dinner, with unadorned mashed potatoes, baked pumpkin, green beans and cranberry-apple sauce. It was the perfect amount. And instead of following dinner with calorie-rich (and stunningly beautiful) desserts, I opted for my Halo Peanut 'n Pumpkin biscuits.

Of course, since I was determined to wake up at the crack of dawn to take advantage of the Black Friday specials at Merrick Bark Mall, I decided to make an early night of it. Now normally I don't like to be part of the holiday shopping madness, but I had a purpose: I still needed a few things for the cruise and some holiday gifts for my bitches and beaus. You know how much I love a bargain, and this was the day to do it.

Luckily, I found a stunning set of crystal studded chancletas at Jimmy Chew's and a gorgeous Chewy Vuitton bag at Neiman Barcus. The rest of my holiday shopping, meanwhile, is going to be done on the Internet. Why? Because everybody at the mall seems sick this season, coughing and sneezing on me at every turn. You can never be too careful, especially with the new story of swine flu in cats. The last thing I want to be dealing with is a flu -- or a cold -- this close to our holiday trip to the South Pacific.

So, along with my Daily Greens and hip and joint supplement, I am taking Xtra-C to boost my immune system.

And to help with my cyber shopping, I've printed a copy of Haute Gifts for a Cool Yule from the Haute or Not? blog. What an extraordinary group of haute gifts for your fur pals! There are even some cool things for humans, too!!! If you bought one of everything it would only cost $2323.04 ... what a bargain!!!

Ciao, bellas. Have a haute week!
