Resolutions for Pets and Pet People

So here we are at the end of one year and the beginning of the next. Who am I to buck the tradition of the New Year’s Resolution? This is mine from the "professional improvement" category:   READ MORE

Head Injuries and Seizures in Dogs and Cats

The link between head injuries (specifically traumatic brain injuries) and subsequent development of seizures in people is clear. So, I was surprised to learn that, until recently, no similar studies have been done in dogs and cats. I’d have thought that with the number of cases of hit-by-car,... READ MORE

Is Your Pet Licensed?

I just got my cat’s license renewal application in the mail. My community has some pretty rigorous and tightly enforced pet laws on the books (we even have a leash law for cats!). I have no desire to get on the wrong side of Animal Control so I’ll be sending in my $12, even though Vicky never... READ MORE

Forgive me, but I need a break from the (sometimes) serious subject matter of Fully Vetted. Uplifting... READ MORE

The 'Other' Dysplasia in Large Breed Dogs - Elbow Dysplasia

>Most owners of large breed dogs are aware of the perils of hip dysplasia. In contrast, when I mention elbow dysplasia as a possible cause of a pet’s lameness, I tend to be met with blank stares.   READ MORE

Tips for Shopping for Pet Meds Online

I hope I don’t get kicked out of the veterinary fraternity (sorority) for this post, but I shop for most of my pet meds online. Some things I can get through my veterinary supplier, but when I don’t want to buy in bulk (I can’t get rid of a carton of heartworm preventative before it... READ MORE
