Neuticles: So you think you really need those “balls”?

July 29, 2009 / (3) comments

Yes, it’s true. Should you lament the loss of the look of "manliness" in your oh-so-macho dog, you too can elect to have your dog’s testicles replaced with silicone-based implants when he’s neutered.

Akin to the breast implants some of you may be intimately familiar with, there’s no need to lose out on appearances when it comes to the sterilization of a male dog. A product called Neuticles is there to make sure you have a choice in the matter. Here's what they look like:

OK, so I agree with you. It’s a silly notion, this need for testicular implants. I get it if Lance Armstrong wants one to round out his pair after losing one to cancer. I even get it when women choose to augment their breast size a cup or two. But for your dog? Seriously?

Um...yes.

Here’s where I’ll confess to having implanted a few pairs of these myself. When owners have done the research and arrived with the dreaded question, I’ve had to relent: "If it’s the only way you’ll concede to having him neutered...I’ll do it."

In fact, I’ve even offered the Neuticle option to clients who have formerly been intractable on the subject of neutering: "Consider that he doesn’t have to look like he’s lost them."

It may seem somehow wrong, if not downright unethical, to offer an option that––let’s face it––is 100% cosmetic. There is ZERO health benefit to Neuticles. Though the rate of complications is impressively low (less than 1 percent) and these complications are fully reversible, surgery to implant Neuticles (done at the same timeas neutering) is wholly unnecessary.

I don’t dispute it. But when an owner repeatedly refuses to neuter a dog that desperately needs to be neutered (think: the presence of testicular masses, recurrent prostatic disease, etc.), what would YOU do?

Um....That's funny! Some owners are so nuts, well, I guess anything to get more dogs neutered. Yeah, but I bet they'll do some test on them and rule that a chemical in the silicone causes cancer.

Neuticles

I personally think Neuticles are silly - then again, I'm not a guy :) - but, if it gets more people to neuter their pets, I'm all for it. Pet overpopulation is a serious matter which results in death for so many innocents. The more people who spay & neuter, the better...even if it takes Neuticles!!

An Option When Neutering
by Gregg Miller on 08/17/2009 08:00pm

My name is Gregg Miller and I am the inventor of Neuticles for Pets.

Neuticles were created because I was opposed to the traditional method of neutering which was created in 1802. Many fail to realize when you have your beloved pet altered the veterinarian removes that body part- leaving only the scr#tum which eventually shrivels up leaving your male dog Eunich in appearance.

Since 1802 it has become our CULTURE to accept emasculation of our family pets as being the norm.
Neuticles deviates from our culture because we are saying yes you CAN have a neutered pet and YES he can retain his identity and self esteem.

Millions of unwanted pets are killed each year simply because of pet overpopulation ---costing the taxpayers hundreds of millions of dollars. This is an atrocity to a civilized society and anyone should welcome a a perfectly safe alternative to the tradtional form of neutering that has a 100% success rate and backed by $2 million liability coverage on each and every Neuticled pet. What other medical product guarantees it safety like Neuticles?

Neuticles go wayyyyy beyond 'cosmetic surgery'. Neuticles are encouraging folks to neuter that simply would not before.

Each and every day I hear from a pet owner who in one way or another will say " I would not have neutered had it not been for Neuticles." As a result, pet over population is being reduced and above all those Neuticled pets are living longer, happier and healthier lives.

I will repeat. Those that are neutering with Neuticles simply would not have neutered before and as a result those Neuticled pets are living longer, happier and healthier lives.

Endorsed by the ASPCA and winner of the 2005 IG Nobel Peace Prize for Medicine, Neuticles provides the caring pet owner an option when the day comes to alter.
