Q. My new puppy barks at my husband. He gives her treats and encouragement so now she will go near him, but it's inconsistent and disheartening. Help?

A. One way to overcome this problem is to have your husband and the puppy go to training classes together. They need to have time to bond together doing activities like walking, going to the dog park, or playing ball/frisbee/fetch. At first you can go with them to ease the transition but ultimately the most improvement will occur when it is just the two of them.
