Q. My cat seems to be very sick , she seems like she cannot see and is very weak?

Answered By
DR. CHRISTIE LONG, D.V.M., C.V.A.

A. Depending on your cat's age, causes of acute loss of vision and weakness including poisoning or ingestion of a toxin, stroke, extremely high blood pressure (due to a heart or hormonal problem and causing detachment of the retina) and blood clot. It's possible that determining the cause of her symptoms will help to determine a treatment that she will respond to , so please get her in to see a vet as quickly as you can, because time is of the essence.

A. I am sorry your cat is feeling sick. Unfortunately, because we don't know what's wrong with her, we can't tell youwhat to do about it. She needs to be seen by a vet ASAP. I would bring her to an emergency vet clinic tonight if it were my cat. They will examine her to determine the problem, and then prescribe the best treatment for her.

A. I thin you should go to your closest veterinarian. She can have a number of things wrong with her. She most likely needs immediate medical attention. Fluids and blood work are a must it sounds like.
