Q. My cat, Beau, is a two-year old male cat. All four of his feet are swollen.
DR. CHRISTIE LONG, D.V.M., C.V.A.
A. There's a disease called lymphacytic/plasmacytic pododermatitis that causes all the feet to swell in young cats. We think it'a an allergic or hypersensitivity reaction to something - did you maybe just change litter recently? Maybe new cleaner on the floor? If that's what it is, it can be a painful condition, and sometimes they need prescription medications to help them feel better and to get the feet to return to normal. He should be assessed by your vet and an appropriate course of therapy determined.
