A. Hi, I'm sorry but I can't see the article you're referring to. The typical normal range for total calcium in a dog is 8 - 11.5 mg/dL or 2 - 3.8 mmol/L. IONIZED calcium, which is the free and available form of calcium in the blood, should be between 4.5 and 6 mg/dL or 1.1 to 1.5 mmol/L. I gave both units of measure since it's measured differently in different parts of the world.
