Q. Do dog sweaters realy help labs?
A. That depends. Labs usually have great coats and can withstand a reasonable amount of weather. Natural oils help to keep the water beading off the outer hairs keeping the dog drier underneath, as they are bred to be water dogs. For most climates coats can be over rated but they will help keep your pet dry and help reduce wet dog smell if its wet out. Coats can help break the wind and take the cold off on really bad days. Most healthy dogs can probably get away with out a coat but if the weather is bad, your pet is young/old/or have a health issue they can be a benefit.
