Q. What is the best food for my 15 yr old cat he has trouble chewing his dry food
A. I would try adding some canned food to his diet or adding a little warm water or low sodium broth to his hard kibble to soften it, making it easier to chew.
Any time there are dental issues, these should be checked by the vet. He may need a tooth extracted, and once healed up, his mouth may be feeling good enough to go back to his regular food without issue.
I always recommend a good quality, pet specialty store brand over the grocery store brands when possible, but if he is doing well on the food he is currently on, you can try to soften it.

A. If your kitty has trouble chewing dry food it is likely that he has tooth problems and gingivitis which is very painful., Please give him canned (wet) food for now (2 oz (1/2 a 4 oz can) in the morning and the same in the evening. You need to take him to your vet ASAP for an exam of his mouth and teeth and schedule a possible dental.
