Q. I have a 9mth old lab that started eating his feces lately. I am curious if we are not feeding him enough? Weighs 73lbs. How much should we feed him?
A. This would depend on the type of food you feed him. There should be a guide on the back, and you should be feeding him based on his ideal weight and take into consideration his amount of energy/exercise. If he is super active you may need to bump up the amount you feed him. He should be a good quality diet from a pet store.
Eating his own poop can be from not digesting his food enough, a behavioral issue, lacking something in his diet etc. You can get pills from the pet store that you feed him which can help stop this.
