Q. Our female cat has blood after urination ,she is urinating more frequently & smaller volume her appetite Seems to be good . Should we go to ER 2 nigh
DR. JENNIFER LADD, DVM
A. Cats frequently develop crystals that can turn into urinary stones. It can block their capacity to urinate but more often in male cats. If she can still urinate, just small amounts you will probably be okay waiting until morning, but realize that if she loses the ability to urinate her bladder could rupture. Less likely would be a urinary tract infection.
