A. There is a formula that will give you a rough guideline of caloric needs. Take yours dogs healthy body weight in lbs and divide by 2.2. This is now your dogs weight in kg. Take this weight and multiply by 30. To this number, add 70. This final number is considered your dogs Resting Metabolic Rate. Take this number (RMR) and multiply it by 4. This will be the low end of calories needed. Now take the RMR and multiply by 8. This is the high end of calories needed. Almost there... One more step... On the back of the dog food you can see how many kcal/cup of dog food. If you divide the caloric need ranges by this number you will see how many cups of food daily. I hope this helps.
