Q. My dog presents with tapeworms larger ones that squirm in her pop and she throws up everything she eats she is also having trouble breathing
DR. LEIGH PUSATERI, DVM
A. If your dog is having trouble breathing than she needs to be seen by a vet right away. Your vet may need to take an xray to evaluate her heart and lungs to rule out an infection or heart disease. Dogs get tapeworms from eating fleas. Your vet can prescribe medications to treat the tapeworms and fleas. The difficulty breathing is probably unrelated to the tapeworms.
