Q. Dog has vomited twice, he is lethargic. Bile is brown in color, nose is wet to the touch. Am attempting to give rice liquid.
DR. LEIGH PUSATERI, DVM
A. If your dog is vomiting and is lethargic he should be examined by a veterinarian to determine the cause. Your dog could have gastritis/enteritis, an infection, parasite, metabolic disease (liver, kidney disease), endocrine disease ( diabetes, Cushing, thyroid), or a foreign body. Your vet can run lab work and take x-rays, if needed, to help diagnose and treat the problem. Your dog may need some fluids, if he is dehydrated, and medications to prevent and control vomiting.
