A. I would honestly do the surgery. Obviously there are concerns any time you are dealing with anesthesia, but like you said the cat is two and the doctor has found what is probably the cause of your cat's discomfort. When I worked at the vet when we did exploratory surgeries on dogs who had foreign bodies in their intestine they recovered very well. Obviously it's a case by case and I don't know all the details of your situation but, I would go for it.
