DR. MASSIMO ORIOLES, DVM, MRCVS
A. The seizure and the limited vision may be related to the head trauma that your dog had few months ago.
Limited vision may be a problem related to the eyes or to the central nervous system where the electrical impulses coming from the eye are transmitted and processed.
The list of eye problems that could impair vision is very long (
Seizures could potentially originate from a variety of causes, but definitively a head trauma is one of them. Even after months, epileptic seizures can be secondary to scars resulting from traumas in the central nervous system.
A veterinarian could discriminate the two problems (eye problem vs central nervous system problem) in consultation. A video recording of the seizure episode, should it occur again, could be helpful for your veterinarian to establish if they are really epileptic seizures or not.
