Q. Have an eight week old puppy who is recovering from Parvo, she had one shot before getting sick when is it okay to start giving her shots again?

Answered By
DR. MASSIMO ORIOLES, DVM, MRCVS

A. Yes, it will be fine to vaccinate her for Parvovirus again.

When she will be completely recovered from Parvo (no more signs) and in good clinical condition (eating, drinking, passing feces and urine normally) you can bring her back to your veterinarian for the vaccination.

A. first of all keep her strictly indoor until she recovers completely, once she is healthy again wait at least 10 days before you vaccinate her again. According to when she received the first vaccination your vet will have to decide if she needs to restart the vaccination course (usually up to 5 weeks between the two vaccines). Good luck, she is lucky to have survived this at this young age!
