Q. Bloated stomach with fluid, difficulty breathing, adult female cat
DR. MASSIMO ORIOLES, DVM, MRCVS
A. These are signs that need to be checked immediately by your veterinarian. Especially if she has difficulty breathing, it is a real emergency. Heart disease may cause all these signs ( abdominal fluid accumulation and pulmonary/ pleural effusion), but other causes are possible ( infectious disease, tumors).
DAVID ELBEZE, DVM, MRCVS
A. First thing that comes to mind is a heart condition (heart failure or heartworm), but it might very well be a tumor as well. Either way she needs to see a vet ASAP.
