Q. My dog had benign cist removed from anal glands 6 months ago. It's only been 5 months and its back bigger than before.hes 15 years old. Help

A. Sometimes benign cyst tend to grow back or if the previous one was not removed completely (often there are no enough tissues to remove it completely, so the surgeon has no choice but a partial removal) may be the same coming back.

If the cyst is benign I would consider, talking with your veterinarian, the pros and cons of another general anesthetic and surgical removal of the cyst.

If the cyst is not impairing his defecation and it is not getting infected or is not painful, then possibly I would consider just to monitor it and do not remove it.

It is difficult for me to say as I would need to have a look at the cyst.
