Q. My six month old puppy has had blood taken result showing enzymes and low protein. She is eating drinking and her motions and urine are fine
DAVID ELBEZE, DVM, MRCVS
A. She might be suffering from a liver problem as high enzymes and low protein usually indicates a liver condition. Liver problems can also be caused by the pancreas or by medication she might be taking. It could also be a congenital disease (from birth).
If she is showing symptoms you should consider liver support supplements. And possibly further investigation (ultrasound could revile the problem).
