Q. How long does it take for pyometria to show signs or symptoms
DAVID ELBEZE, DVM, MRCVS
A. It can take a week, sometimes more. The uterus is feeling up with pus and it can take some time until it's full of pus. Some dogs will start showing symptoms only after the uterus is already full.
The most common symptoms are - increase drinking, arched back, pain ,reluctant to move, lethargy, loss of appetite.
If you suspect your dog might have a pyometra I recommend going to the vet in order to catch it early, as it can be fatal if caught too late.
