Q. My 1 year old cat got declawed a week and a half ago; recovery was good. Suddenly now he is paranoid, trembling--have ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA WHY. Help!!
DAVID ELBEZE, DVM, MRCVS
A. This might be because of the fact that he has no claws, this procedure can unfortunately make them lose their confidence because cats need to feel that they can grab and claw, when they can't - their confidence go down and they can become paranoid.
It's done and he will probably get better with time, but for the future bare in mind this is a procedure many believe to be not right. In many countries this procedure is actually banned.
