Q. I have two questions. First both of my kittens are sneezing and is there any way for home treatment. next one of them has constipation, poops anywhere
DAVID ELBEZE, DVM, MRCVS
A. This is probably an upper respiratory infection. it's very common in young cats and is very contagious to other cats as well. it cannot be treated with home remedies.
It is treated with antibiotic eye drops/ointment and oral antibiotics for about 2 weeks. if left untreated many cats will end up blind or even die from the disease.
I advise going to your vet asap to start the treatment right away.
Constipation can be a very serious condition, it can be caused by a physical blockage (foreign body like a bone) or a functional peristalsis deficiency of the intestines.
In order to treat simple constipation, you should increase the fibers in the food (e.g. canned pumpkin) and can add a little mineral oil to the diet.
I strongly advise taking your cat to the vet in order to check if there is a serious condition causing the constipation first.
