Q. My cat vommitted during the night. This morning we found he'd urinated in the bath, but there was blood in it. Any thoughts before I can get to vet?
DAVID ELBEZE, DVM, MRCVS
A. It might be either a urinary infection, a partial urinary blockage or a bladder inflammation. all those conditions can lead to a complete urinary blockage very quickly in males and because of that are considered an emergency situation, which means you need to take him to the vet right away.
He will get antibiotics, pain killers and anti inflammatories as well as a special food and urethral muscle relaxants to avoid blockage.
