Q. My cat is sneezing and has discharge in her eyes, i have taken her to the vets and have been told her has a viral infection
DAVID ELBEZE, DVM, MRCVS
A. This is probably an upper respiratory infection, also known as cat flu. it's very common in young cats and is very contagious to other cats as well.
It is treated with antibiotic eye drops/ointment and oral antibiotics for about 2 weeks. if left untreated many cats will end up blind or even die from the disease, but with treatment it usually resolve completely.
