A. 2 things are a possibility here:
1) Your kitty has a urinary tract infection. These are not as common in male cats as in female cats but they can still occur. They cause frequent urination, urinating in inappropriate areas, foul odor and sometimes even blood in the urine. This can be diagnosed by having your veterinarian run a urinalysis test and then prescribing appropriate medication (i.e. Antibiotics, anti-inflammatories)
2) Some pets can have urinary calculi (stones) that cause partial blockage of the urethra and lots of irritation in the bladder. These pets also have the same symptoms that you will see with a pet that has a UTI, so it is important to run abdominal radiographs to rule out potential urinary stones. Your vet may recommend this if they are suspicious that there could be stones present.
