A. This is not uncommon and is often related to straining due to poor stool quality but is rarely an indicator of any disease requiring treatment. If there is any irritation you should get his anal glands checked by your local vet tech. Additional fiber in his diet may improve stool quality and resolve the issue; ensure he is up to date with parasite control as low grade diarrhea from parasites can contribute to anal irritation
