Q. Sometimes my generally sweet tempered cat's back twitches & may accompany aggression but no excessive licking/biting self. How much twitching is nrml?
LINDSEY EDWARDS MVB, BSC, IVCA
A. This is quite a commonly normal reflex in cats and can be associated with sometimes aggressive reactions. If there is no over-grooming or vocalizing when grooming herself and no self-trauma or breaking of the coat or skin I would continue to monitor. Tryptophan containing supplements can help to reduce this if related to anxiety and over sensitivity
