Q. I have a Black 12 yrr old F cat that was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism in Oct.. After tests were run, vet asked me if I wanted to have her pts.

A. Hyperthyroidism is not a reason to pts a cat. Simple hyperthyroidism can be treated quite easily and should be treated. Sometimes there are complications with renal or cardiac disease, however one can adjust medication and treatments accordingly. You may want to get a second opinion from another vet, preferably one who is good with cats or specialises in cats.
