Q. Is it possible to cover a moist and bloody growth on the side of my dogs face. The vet has seen it and removal of the growth was not required. Thanks
DR. ANDREA M. BRODIE, DVM
A. The problem with covering such a growth is that your dog will try to remove the cover/bandage and possibly cause more damage eto the growth. You may ask your vet to remove it anyway, e.g. via cryosurgery (which does not necessarily require general anesthesia). You could also buy some spray bandage and spray the growth with it and hope the moisture subsides. Make sure you protect the eyes of your dog while spraying.
