Q. noticed a hard bony like lump in old dogs maxilary anterior above a canine when he smiled big. eating well, etc.I know can b cancer worried.
DR. ANDREA M. BRODIE, DVM
A. This could be anything from just a proliferation of bone from an earlier injury, to a tooth root abscess to indeed a mass. You should take your dog to a vet for an exam thereby relieving your worry and arriving at a diagnosis with possible treatment.
DAVID ELBEZE, DVM, MRCVS
A. It can definitely be cancer unfortunately, but if it's caught really early - surgical excision might be an option. in order to find out what it is and if it's in a treatable stage or not, i recommend going to the vet and have X-rayed, this will probably determine if the tumor is still small enough to be removed efficiently or not.
