Q. if my cat has fluid in her stomach is she going to die
DR. ANDREA M. BRODIE, DVM
A. This depends on why your kitty has fluid in her stomach or abdomen. If your kitty suffers from FIP, feline infectious peritonitis, then she is, I am afraid, likely to die. If fluid in the abdomen is caused by parasites, for example or liver disease, it may be curable. If she has fluid in its stomach, this may be normal depending on what she ate or drank. You should take her to a veterinarian for an exam to determine the cause of the fluid and to determine where the fluid is.
