Q. I have a 14 yr old 120 lb black 75% husky with a front leg joint injury rec'd when young, and now at times hinders his movement. Can Tylenol help?
A. DO NOT GIVE YOUR DOG TYLENOL OR IBPROFEN. Human pain meds are toxic to dogs. Take your dog to your vet. They can determine wether or not xrays are needed. Probably not if it is an old injury. More than likely this is arthritis due to the old injury. Ther e are many treatments available such as dog specific NSAIDs (non steriodal anti inflamatorys), painkillers like tramadol, cold laser therapy, accupuncture, glucosamine and chondroitin supplements. When treating arthritis a multi modal approach works best, meaning using two or more of the above optiions together. Good luck. And again no tylenol
