Q. My extremely active, 10 ye old 80# male Dalmatian came in limping due to his er rear leg. He'll go a blk, law down, then go again. Any ideas?
A. It may be soft tissue related or joint related. Restrict his activity to just walks to eliminate for a few days. Use a towel under his abdomen to provide support if necessary. Avoid excessive running, jumping or playing. If the lameness does not subside, your veterinarian should see him. Rule out ligament damage in the knee or soft tissue injury. He may require xrays to reach a diagnosis.
