Q. My 8yr old lab is having horrible gas with soft mustard colored poop , with white crystal-like mold all over it, looks like freezer burn on meat

A. Withhold food for 12-24 hours. Allow small amounts of water or unflavored PediaLyte. Resume feeding a bland diet (1:1 ratio of plain boiled boneless chicken and plain white rice). Feed in small, frequent amounts waiting at least one hour between feedings. Continue feeding until the stool is normal. Transition slowly to the regular diet. If the diarrhea and gas don’t stop, see your veterinarian. There may be a food sensitivity or allergy. Rule out intestinal parasites as well. A probiotic may be of benefit. Discuss options and products with your vet.

A. She is not digesting her food correctly with bacterial overgrowth creating gas. Her pancreas may not be working correctly, this can be tested and supplemented as needed
