Q. Bone cancer in saint bernard
A. Without knowing the age of your dog, location of the tumor and stage of cancer, it is difficult to give more than general information. Any cancer diagnosis should be discussed with a veterinary oncologist. Chest and abdominal xrays should be done to rule out metastasis. If the tumor is in a limb, consider amputation surgery, even as a palliative measure. With a dog as big as a St. Bernard, to amputate or not can be a difficult decision. A consult with a veterinary surgeon would be recommended prior to any surgery.
