Q. How do I know my turtle is pregnant?
A. If you saw your turtles mating, you should be able to tell within 2-3 weeks whether the female is pregnant. Gently insert your finger into her shell in front of her hind leg to feel for lumps. These lumps are eggs. If she is gravid (pregnant), you will need to separate her and provide a laying area out of the water. Provide plenty of UVB lighting for basking (change the bulb if it is 6 months or older) and add extra calcium to her diet. Search for the proper environmental conditions required for your species of turtle.
