Q. English springer spaniel heart beat 50 very healthy otherwards strong beat is this a worry
A. A normal heart rate for dogs is between 60 and 140 beats per minute. There is some variation between breeds and sizes. Lower heart rates can be normal for working or very athletic dogs. Consider a consult and an echocardiogram to assess heart structure and function with a veterinary cardiologist if you are concerned.

A. It's not necessarily a problem in a very fit, athletic dog, but at age 15 I'd want to get the vet to listen to his heart - especially the rhythm of it, and feel the quality of his pulses - to see if there might be a problem. In a springer spaniel I'd say that a rate of 70 BPM is more normal, and I would definitely want to get this checked out.
