Q. My boxer has no appetite for 2 days. Increased urination and has vomited once. Any suggestions?
A. Offer a bland diet (1:1 ratio of plain boiled boneless chicken and plain white rice). Feed in small, frequent amounts. Serve warmed or mix in 2 teaspoons of baby food to stimulate the appetite. If he is drinking, offer a 50/50 dilution of water and unflavored PediaLyte. If the appetite does not return, see your vet. You vet can collect a sterile urine sample for urinalysis and urine culture (to rule out UTI) as well as submit blood work (CBC, chemistry panel, thyroid panel) to assess major organ function and to rule out systemic infection.

A. He needs to get his urine checked for possible infection and kidneys ability to concentrate urine. If he is not vaccinated leptospirosis should also be considered.
Take him to the vet with ASAP, try to bring a fresh urine sample with you (in a clean plastic container.)
