Q. my cat cannot have a bowel movement ,strains and has vomited. He is surely in some pain. It is late at night and I cannot get to a vet till tomorrow.
A. The straining is likely causing the vomiting. If there is a veterinary ER available, you could have him seen there for evaluation and treatment tonight. If this is not an option, add warm water to the food to increase fluid intake. Feed in small amounts. Add a teaspoon of plain canned pumpkin (NOT pie filling) to the meals once or twice daily. See your veterinarian in the morning.
