A. Sometimes they can have an allergic reaction to something or seasonal allergies as well. Try bathing them with a calming dog shampoo or baby shampoo. If that doesn't help you can try 1mg of Benadryl (diphenhydramine) per pound of weight. For example if your dog weighs 12 lbs try half of a 25mg tablet or 2 tablets of 25mg if your dog weighs 50 lbs. If this doesn't help a veterinary or veterinary dermatologist evaluation is in order.
