A. Diarrhea that is slimey or discolored, and discharge from the vaginal area can indicate a number of things. Diarrhea causes can range from digestive upset and internal parasites, to full blow GI diseases or bowel issues. Vaginal discharge can be caused either by the uterus/cervix, or from problems with the urinary tract as both of these exit into a combined vestibule and vulva in cats. Spayed cats that have part of their cervix intact still *can* get cervical infections, however urinary tract infections are much more common. Veterinary care should be sought to determine the cause of her symptoms- bringing in a sample of her stool and a urine sample if possible will help your vet to figure out what is wrong much more quickly!
