Q. My dog has a white pimple on his neck
JESSICA L DESROSIERS
A. A single pimple may just be due to irritation such as rubbing on the skin or a minor allergic reaction. These may appear as small itchy red or white bumps on the skin. If the pimple is not changing size or bothersome to your dog, then just monitoring it for any changes in shape or size is best, as well as preventing your dog from licking or scratching at it. If the pimple is bothersome, is oozing debris, hot to the touch or growing in size, then having it looked at by your vet is best. They can check for common problems such as abscesses, cysts and infections, and can recommend treatment or further testing as needed.
