A. If the antibiotics did not help, further testing may be needed to determine what is causing your cat's symptoms. Bringing him back in for additional tests such as blood work, an X-ray/ultrasound and neurologic testing may help find an answer. Neurologic, nerve and muscular problems can all cause a loss of bowel and bladder control, and may cause other signs such as limping, pain or changes in appearance to the affected area. Infections and internal illnesses may also cause similar changes.
