Q. My dog seems to be afraid of something I can't see or hear. We've had her since she was a puppy in a apt. Shes 2 now and won't enter a tiled room.

A. Dogs can often be afraid of slippery or tiled surfaces as it may appear to be like "water" to them, so they are hesitant to walk in it. Adding some rugs over the tiled surface can often help them feel more comfortable about walking on it, and may help with her fear. If she does enter the room to lay on or walk on the rug, you can offer her a treat to encourage her to keep doing so. Be sure to give extra praise and treats if she ventures onto the tile itself. If the fear worsens or does not improve with this, then speaking with a vet or behaviorists may be beneficial.
